OK so I am crazy at Halloween, what’s new? My friend and I wanted to do a cool Halloween Dinner in her husbands old office, a hundred year old cottage. It had an arched door, two brick fireplaces and the age to give it that Hocus Pocus, Sanderson sister vibes. It was perfect so of course I had to go all out.
It was quite small so we could only invite ten couples, just enough to fit on the large dining table we set up. Our theme was old victorian Halloween. We started by making a dried branch chandelier and arch over the fireplace. We added the crows and spiderwebs and then went to all of the creepy skulls and candles. I can’t tell you how many candles we used but it was a ton.
We decorated with mercury glass and bones mixed with moss for the filler and then used black and gold for the table settings. I spray painted plastic vampire teeth for the name card holders and it was perfect.
For the entry, I wanted to put that old house feeling in by doing a portrait wall covered with images I photoshopped with our guests faces on them. It was such a fun surprise for them to come find themselves on the body of a dead person. Some were corelated to the costumes such as mine, Marie Antoinnette and Tyler’s, King Louis and then our co-hosts were the vikings.
As the guests entered, they saw the wall of portraits and then were invited to do a scavenger hunt. I have attached the WELCOME HERE. So you can download it and print and then you can make up your own items to hunt. HERE is the blank background image.
I had a huge charcuterie board inside a skeleton along with some other fun details like the coffin with the Poe quotes inside and of course more portraits.
Inside one of the rooms we had a fortune teller table with a crystal ball and fortunes for each guest. It was one of the hunt items. I have everything on video in my reels on instagram if you want to see the details. I forgot ot take pictures because I was so busy rushing around and I’m so sad about it but the videos are fun to watch. @KirstenKizerian
