Sometimes people think I am insane to do so many family photos a year and honestly, if I had to pay for them I would agree but most of the photographers I have worked with, I did design trade for and so it has been so fun to cash in with beautiful memories. Everytime I get pictures back I realize how special they are. They capture such perfect moments that writing in my journal (when it actually happens) sometimes can’t explain. My most precious ones are those of Tyler and Scarlett playing and laughing. They are two peas in a pod. The cutest little dynamic duo you could picture. My husband is like a little kid when he is with her and it is so fun to watch together. These pics were done by an amazing and talented Heather Wagner Photography, I did her branding about a year ago and it has been one of my most referred projects.

A few phone pics here

Like I said in my last post, California was perfect. My birthday on the beach was amazing and I couldn’t have enjoyed myself more. Scarlett loved the sand (eating it too), and enjoyed the serene sounds of the waves which her sound machine plays every time she sleeps.

I collaborated with Tobi.com for clothing on my entire California trip and loved everything they sent. This white lace up body suit was perfect for an overcast day at the beach. I’m not gonna lie, I’m kind of afraid of the ocean so I never really dive in unless it’s clear enough to see whats going on in there (cautious Kirst). The embroidered jacket and jean shorts from h&m were perfect additions to the look, all comfortable and practical for beaching.

Turning 31 let me look back to the last year and how much I have grown personally. I have accomplished things I never imagined and overcome trials I wished I never had but most of all, I have learned the wisdom in trusting in God’s plan for me. He knows what I need and the best way to help me learn it.

I’m sitting here at 4:30 in the morning with a terrible migraine, and loads of anxiety over Scarlett’s PKU levels (they have been high for three weeks) but I can’t help but think about all the blessings I have in my life. So many good people surround me and support me and my family. My husband is an angel and works so hard to take care of us. I have my talents that give me so much fulfillment and valuable resources at my fingertips because of the day and age I live in. Life is so good.

She was five weeks and honestly I just can’t believe how much she has changed in the last few weeks. She is such a light to our family and I couldn’t be happier to be her mom. PKU has not been a burden to us thus far, we just do the formula and the weekly blood tests until she starts eating more solid foods, that’s when there will be a bigger adjustment. She is healthy and her levels are finally where they need to be (whew, what a relief).

Christmas card pics are my favourite of the entire year. I think I like them so much because of the progress they show of us over the past year. These pics turned out just beautiful and captured our little family perfectly thanks to Hunter Fowler.
