Summer is finally here! I seriously can’t be more happy about it. It’s funny because my husband has had the air conditiong on since January and I have been so cold. Then a few days ago, it was 90+ outside and the air conditioning broke! I was melting in bed all night and thinking, “well Kirsten, you got your summer weather,” it just made me laugh.

I wanted to design a fun mood board that had bright colors and brought the summer feeling to my blog. I do a ton of moody stuff (because I love it) but its always nice to branch out and have some change in my life. Pinks, oranges and yellows with pops of green make me just want to bust out a picnic by the pool and drink some lemonade, yummmms.

Hopefully you are feeling this as much as me right now and are so happy to finally have the sun beaming down on your face. Don’t forget to listen to this perfect summer song

Beach branding

This is the blue/green version with the sand color and grey to look more like the ocean.

Branding is an interested project to work on. Each company or person is so different and wants something different and as I go through the process usually the ones I like best aren’t chosen. It’s kind of funny, but thats what makes the world a beautiful place right?

These are some options that weren’t selected but I loved them so I wanted to post them. Enjoy.

This has been one of my favourite clients and projects to date. I loved working on something that was so my style. The dark moodiness and antique beauty of The Bridal Theory made for a dreamy treat! I am way cheesy and I know it but those are the words that come so I write them. The Bridal Theory is a sophisticated global focused wedding blog with focus on moody imagery. They like unique and enchanting weddings and styled shoots and have only been in business 8 months! I can’t believe how fast they have grown and how amazing their brand is. Check them out here.

I love anything that looks like this. There is something magical about ivy growing up a wall or the shadows from trees in the forest. I wanted to make a mysterious melancholy mood board to satisfy my own creative juices.

Spring Moodboard

I love doing mood boards because its an easy way to get out a design concept without having to do a whole project. Since I love colour so much and mixing sometimes unlikely palettes, purchase pills I wanted to do a little more modern take on the spring palette so I added a florescent yellow and dusty blue to pull in the deeper tones.
